Stellies Confident Ahead Of Sundowns Clash

DSTV Premiership side Stellenbosch FC travel to the capital this afternoon to pit their wits against Nedbank Cup favorites and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

Stellies head coach, Steve Barker is, however, confident that his charges can return to Western Cape with a result this evening, saying to The Beautiful Game;

“It’s a competition that you win five matches and you become a Nedbank Cup Champion and definitely it does sort of form a relief from the league, it does allow us an opportunity to play against the best team in the country.

“Obviously the mindset going into it is that we have to be positive against a quality team, quality players, and their really good at home.

“We cannot go to Pretoria without believing that we can’t get a result, so our mindset has to be a one of belief, and we know what we have to do to get a result against Sundowns, we have to play to our full potential,” concluded Barker.

The encounter is set to kickoff at 17:H00 at Loftus Versveld Stadium, and Barker is quietly optimistic ahead of this nail-biting encounter.
