SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo has showered praise on record-breaking club skipper Ronwen Williams.
The Port Elizabeth-born goalkeeper recently started a century of games in succession, with The Beautiful Game asking Tembo what he makes of the milestone, and he said;
“Look Karabo, I think with Ronwen, he is a true reflection of a SuperSport United player. I’ve know since he arrived at the club since I was a player, towards the end of my career, and I ended up coaching him at the academy, you know, at U17.
“He is a one-man club, and I think we use him as a guide to the younger players; from the academy to the first team, he is a true reflection of what we expect from a SuperSport United player, someone who is very committed, someone who is very hungry.
“And you can see, he still wants to play, he still wants to achieve, you know he still wants to win trophies with the club, and a lot of younger players can learn a lot from him, and I’m quite happy that he has reached this milestone,” concluded Kaitano.
Williams is one of the most consistent performers at the club and in the league, where he has also amassed more than 300 appearances for the club.
