EXCLUSIVE: Mosimane: I Want To Be On Bigger Stage
Posted: 4 February 2021
South African football-loving supporters, across all clubs – nevermind the followers of Mamelodi Sundowns, were overly shocked on the morning of the 30th of September 2020 having learnt that Pitso Hamilton Jingles Mosimane had left “The Yellow Nation.”
Mosimane, who spent eight highly successful years at the capital club, tells The Beautiful Game why he signed for Africa’s premium club, Al Ahly SC, saying to us;
“Ja well Karabo its always pressure but you must have tolerance. You got to have resistance and tolerance. So, for me it’s more about the challenge…I moved to Egypt to find bigger challenges. I didn’t move away from Mamelodi Sundowns because I had to move, I think you know that I had a four-year contract that I left for a two-year contract.
“But for me, when you have won everything, I think the challenge came when we won the treble…you ask yourself ‘what else should I do now, you know, what more?’.
“I wanted to be on a bigger stage where I’d see what is the continent doing. I mean this club has won the Champions League how many times? So I wanted to challenge myself on a bigger stage, you know what I’m trynna say?” he concluded.
The Mogale City-born tactician will lead the African Club of the Century to the Club World Cup where they face Al Duhail in the semifinal this evening and should they pass that test, they’ll play against European Champions League winners Bayern Munich.
