Dolly Rolling Back The Years?
Posted: 21 October 2021
Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs FC pulled off one of the best “buys” in recent months after announcing the arrival of Keagan Dolly on a Bosman transfer from French side Montpellier CF.
Chiefs, who were slapped with a one year transfer ban by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), announced a couple of new faces, with Dolly being the marquee signing of the lot.
However, the Johannesburg-born left-footer touched down at the Mountain of Molotov looking the worse for wear physically and not having played consistent football in just over six months.
Dolly made his debut for the Phefeni Glamour Boys against former side Mamelodi Sundowns FC as a second half substitute, and with his first touch, found another Downs’ player in the form of Khama Gaucho Billiat, who slotted home the ball expertly.
Nonetheless, the playmaker has worked extremely hard on the training grounds at the well-manicured pitches of Naturena; shedding weight, forming those triangles on matchday, passing through the channels, scoring goals and making goals.
Of course, the season is still long and gruelling, and nothing has been lifted yet, but the Amakhosi supporters have something to cheer about if Dolly continues in this vein of form.
