Tshabalala Lists Downs’ Challenge

Mamelodi Sundowns FC have been dominating and sweeping all before them in the last couple of years, and on the flipside, the ladies team have also dominated the women’s league.

The Beautiful Game speaks exclusively to Mamelodi Sundowns’ women’s Head Coach, Jerry Tsabalalala, who says despite the riches of the club, they face a couple of challenges, saying;

“I think all the teams have its own challenges, I think the only challenge that we face is when we’ve got most of our players going to represent the national team whereby you don’t have your entire team to prepare.

“So they would go for a week and when they come back, you definitely have to get them back in whatever shape that you want you know, so I would say the only challenge we have is when we have our players with the national team.

“Therefore, when they come back, it’s a bit difficult to integrate them back to whatever that you’ve been doing with the team previously,” concluded Tshabalala.

Downs have qualified for the group stages of the Women’s CAF Champions League, where they are one of the favourites and are also running away with the local league.
