Ozil Omitted In Europe
Posted: 8 October 2020
Arsenal Football Club have omitted Mesut Ozil in the Europa League squad that was named by the club earlier today, signalling the end of his Arsenal career.
The 31-year-old German has not kicked a ball for The Gunners since March before the vicious coronavirus outbreak. This will be another blow for the playmaker, who had hoped to return to the squad for Europe’s secondary competition.
Ozil remains the club’s highest paid footballer on £350 000 per week, and this will definitely knock him down, with the saying “when it rains it pours”, it is pouring for the German.
Arsenal’s Europa League campaign will begin when they face Group B rivals Rapid Vienna in Austria on October 22 before matches against Dundalk and Molde.
