Ncikazi Reacts After Big Win In Algeria
Posted: 21 March 2022
South African football giants Orlando Pirates Football Club qualified for the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederations Cup after winning 2-0 against JS Soaura in Algiers, Algeria last night.
The Buccaneers subsequently have a game to spare but a win or a draw in their final match at home against FC Ittihad will ensure the Sea Robbers advance as Group B winners.
Pirates’ Co-Head Coach, Mandla Ncikazi reacts to the victory, saying;
“Yeah very difficult team, Soaura is a very good team. I thought we played well, we exerted ourselves well, maybe Soaura were unlucky they had players suspended.
“I think the captain was suspended, Amran was suspended, the two centre backs, and I thought it worked in our favour.
When asked if Pirates will field a weakened team on the 3rd of April, Ncikazi said;
“We are a professional side, we are going to play Ittihad FC to win, we are going to put our strong side so that we win the match. To us, all matches are played to win, so it’s not going to be an easy match but we are going to play our best team against Ittihad,” he concluded
Pirates are expected to arrive in South Africa later today with the international break in full swing. Bafana Bafana are set to play against Guinea on Friday, before facing World champions France on the 29th in Lille.
