Mosimane: I’m Dealing With Global Football
Posted: 15 December 2022

Former Mamelodi Sundowns FC Head Coach Pitso Jingles Mosimane has once again explained why he decided to leave South African football and move to North Africa.

The multiple award-winning Coach explains the difference between the DStv Premiership and the Egyptian league, saying;

“It’s chalk and cheese to be honest because a lot of people don’t understand what we’re talking about. Here (referring to Egyptian football), I’m dealing with international football, in South Africa, the only international football I dealt with was the (African) Champions League.

In regards to the major gulf in class, he said;

“Here, I’m dealing with global football, you know, because the team has been nominated Club of the Year with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, even last year, when we were nominated, we won the biggest club in the Middle East.

“We have done a lot of work and I’m supported by President (Mahmoud El) Khetib (Al Ahly SC Club President), he has played for Al Ahly SC, he is a legend – he is like Doctor Khumalo, Lucas Radebe here. He is well-celebrated and a very, very intelligent guy,” concluded Mosimane.

The outspoken mentor is currently preparing his side for the African Super Cup Final against Raja Casablanca of Morocco on the 22nd of December.
