Posted: 27 September 2021

Bafana Bafana Head Coach Hugo Broos has named a youthful national team squad to do duty against Ethiopia next month in back-to-back games, with the first fixture away and the second at home.

One of the biggest surprise is the omission of newly-signed Al Ahly SC player, Percy Tau, who is nursing a minor injury.

The team is as follows;

Goalkeepers: Ronwen Williams, Veli Mothwa and Bruce Bvuma.

Defenders: Sidney Nyiko Mobbie, Njabulo Blom, Reshuine De Reuik, Siyanda Xulu, Musa Lebusa, Njabulo Ngcobo, Sfiso Hlanti, and Terrance Mashego.

Midfielders: Mothobi Mvala, Teboho Mokoena, Yusuf Maart, Ethan Brooks, Thabani Zuke, Goodman Mosele.

Strikers: Evidence Makgopa, Victor Letsoalo, Thabiso Kutumela, Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Vincent Pule and Tsegofatso Mabasa.

Bafana are expected to fly out of the country early next week to travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where their preparations will begin in earnest for the crucial games.

The first fixture has been pencilled in for Saturday, the 9th of October, with the reverse fixture being played forty eight (48) hours later in Johannesburg, at the FNB Stadium, kickoff time yet to be confirmed by the South African Football Association (SAFA)
