South African-born Coach Pitso Mosimane guided African giants Al Ahly SC of Egypt to their tenth African Champions League trophy last night after beating Kaizer Chiefs FC 3-0 in Casablanca, Morocco.

The Mogale City-born tactician, post-match, said of the momentous achievement;

“We really needed this trophy, I know the team from my country also wanted their first star, but we wanted it more than them. The tenth (10th) one is important, history is good for our archives and how better to do it with three goals.

“Yes I understand that there was a red card, but red card is part of football. You should not be reckless if you’re playing a Cup final. You should not be too emotional and this happens in football, but we deserve it, we won it.

“We’ve been scoring goals in the semifinals, we’ve been scoring goals all the way. Congratulations to the team, Ah Ahly SC deserves the tenth trophy to make history,” he concluded.

The Red Devils will once again represent Africa at the Club World Cup where their expected to stand shoulder to shoulder with European Champions League winners Chelsea FC among other giants of their respective continents.
