DSTV Premiership side Maritzburg United were so close but yet so far in reaching the semifinals of the MTN8 yesterday at the FNB Stadium against Kaizer Chiefs.
The Team of Choice capitulated in two quick second half minutes (74 and 76) when they conceded from set-pieces, with Tinkler seeing positives from the outcome, saying;
“First half…The way we played in the first half, if we can extend that to ninety minutes, I think we can be a major threat this season. But you know Karabo, we dominated Chiefs in the first half; we made them look extremely ordinary and those are the positives.
“But obviously that didn’t happen in the second half and those are things we have to rectify when we play our first league game,” concluded a visibly frustrated Tinkler.
The former Orlando Pirates coach will be looking to sure up his defence this week and has confirmed that their in search of two new goalkeepers with Richard Ofori set to join The Sea Robbers.
