Zinnbauer On Lorch’s Benching

Zinnbauer On Lorch’s Benching
Posted: 18 October 2020

Orlando Pirates Football Club’s head coach Josef Zinnbauer has explained the reason for Thembinkosi Lorch’s non-appearance in yesterday’s encounter at the Orlando Stadium in their 1-0 win against Cape Town City.

It was a bit of a surprise for Lorch not to start or influence matters from the bench, however, Zinnbauer has explained that it is nothing cynical;

“Ahhh I noticed that you know the player, he has quality, but for this game we made other decisions and maybe in the next game Lorch will play.

“He is top quality but all players in the squad are top quality and now we have the possibilities to improve what we have and we have two options or more in different positions.

“This is the quality we have in the team and we can improve in new players and old players understanding each other and we have changed a little bit the system.

“You know the player Lorch, we know the player Lorch, he is quality and we also have other players on the bench who are quality who didn’t play today,” concluded the German.

Nyoso, as Lorch is affectionately known, meaning causing damage, will be disappointed not to have played the first game of the season last night against City, but with his quality, he’ll be forcing his way back into the team for the club’s next encounter.
