FC Barcelona’s world-renowned football academy LaMasia is one of the best football centres in world football and has produced many top youngsters.

Xavi Hernandez Creus, Andries Iniesta, Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquests, Victor Valdez all came through the famed football academy.

The Catalans have now produced yet another precocious talent in Riqui Puig.  The 20-year-old has already made an impact in the senior team post the lockdown with his never-say-die attitude

The midfielder is blessed with close-knit control of a football, ability to think before receiving the ball, tinkle-toed feet and an eye for a pass.   There is still plenty more for Puig to improve at the Nou Camp, but there is hope and promise for him in the first team.

The Spanish youth International has already been likened to the Master, Iniesta, who was simply unplayable on his day, but Puig is still a diamond that needs nurturing, and he is at the best club to realise his full potential.

Messi has applauded the youngster and believes he will add indispensable value for the Catalans for the next decade, it is safe to confirm that Barca have found themselves an absolute gem in Puig.
