English giants Chelsea Football Club are closing in on the signature of Germany international Timo Werner. The 24-year-old has been linked with Liverpool over the last couple of months but looks set to join The Blues due to Jurgen Klopp’s uncertainty on him.

The German has a release of £49.4m (R1.1b) which expires on the 15th of June, but Chelsea are set to buy the speedy striker in the next coming of days and weeks. The Londoners will also pay Werner a stunning £200 000 (R4.2m) a week to make him one of the best paid footballers at the club. The striker’s priority has always been to sign for a Champions League club where he can play regularly.

Werner is set to join Hakim Ziyech, who is joining from Ajax for £33m on July 1, as new additions at Stamford Bridge this summer following their transfer ban being lifted by FIFA in December last year.
