Posted: 8 June 2020
Sky Sports in Spain have told the Beautiful Game that Barcelona have opened negotiations with Lionel Messi and Marc-Andre ter Stegen over contract extensions. Messi and Ter Stegen are out of contract at the Camp Nou in the summers of 2021 and 2022 respectively but the La Liga champions are keen to secure their futures now.
Messi has been at Barca since the tender of age of 11 and has always voiced his love for the club while German international Ter Stegan was signed for Borussia Mochengladbach in the summer of 2014. The pair are most likely to renew their deals with the Catalan giants.
It’s claimed deals for Ansu Fati and Nelson Semedo will be next on the agenda after the futures of Messi and Ter Stegen are secured.
