Ace Over The Hills?

Ace Over The Hills?
Posted: 18 May 2020

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Oupa Manyisa has had a torrid time ever since arriving at the club from arch-rivals Orlando Pirates Football Club a couple a seasons ago. Manyisa, once the darling of Pirates fans, has had two damning injuries, one at Pirates and the most recent at his current club Sundowns.

The 31-year-old rolled over his Achilles tendon against Kaizer Chiefs in the Shell Helix Cup in September 2019; with his coach Pitso Mosimane sadly saying at the time;

“Ja, his done his Achilles, is sad neh, I mean he just started playing guys. And he is 32 (31), I feel sad for Ace, a good footballer, its sad akere,” said a visibly distraught Mosimane.

Ace is one of the most gifted midfielders on his day; technically gifted, tactically aware, can pass it, carries a bag with trickery, with the ability of dictating play on his terms.

There has been countless questions regarding his ability to regain the form that made him one of the most feared midfielders, or are his best years behind him? However, if he does leave The Brazilians, there will be clubs lining up for his services.
