“Drogba Negotiated Until 2am” – Gaye

Top African football correspondent Mamadou Gaye has revealed how former Chelsea and Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba asked for money before they could take to the field during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Gaye has always spoke truth to power, saying;

Drogba negotiated until 2am in the morning, saying that if we (Ivorian Football Association) don’t give them €100 000 right away, they were not going to play. Listen my friend, €100 000, not dollars, Euros

He continued “On top of that, I had an opportunity to visit them at their hotel during the World Cup; you take the lift, walk to the restaurant, go to the swimming pool area; you see the most beautiful ladies in the swimming pool, you see them roaming around, what does that tell you? No surprise they went out of the World Cup in the first round,” concluded Gaye

Drogba is currently campaigning to be the next President of the Ivorian Football Association and Mamdou believes the former African Footballer of the Year is not ready yet and still has a lot to learn.
