Reigning European Champions League winners Chelsea Football Club are finding it extremely difficult to recall their own player back to the club.

Emerson Palmieri, who is currently on-loan at Olympiaco Lyon in France from Chelsea, looks set to remain with the French club until June 2022.

The Blues are desperate to have the defender back at the club and have offered £3.4m in compensation to Lyon, but have seen the offer rejected.

We understand that the French side do not want to part ways with the player in the middle of the season as they view him as a key component of their campaign.
