Downs’ Star Looking For Victory Over Rivals
Posted: 23 November 2021
Reigning DSTV Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC head into their next fixture against cross-town rivals SuperSport United desperate for maximum points.
The Brazilians dropped two points when they faced a tactically astute Cape Town City FC over the weekend in the Mother City.
Downs’ midfielder, Hashim Domingo, who won the man of match accolade against City, says he would like to continue his fine form, saying;
“It’s just to continue where I left off in terms of fitness and I can build on that and then definitely will take the confidence into the next game. But I think it’s important we get the results with this one (against SuperSport United), you know it was difficult to get a result against Cape Town City FC but I’m this one, we need to go out there and look for the three points.
When asked what to expect from Matsatsantsa and the opposition key players, the former Bidvest Wits playmaker said;
“Uhm from SuperSport, I expect a direct performance from them in terms of the long ball and playing on the second ball. I think we need to stay very tight, pick up the second ball and start playing from there.
“I think the midfield…Biki, Mokwena, Mbule, the creative players and also Gabuza and Grobler up front – they’ll give them that aerial presence and that will be key for them,” he concluded.
Sundowns are yet to concede any goal this, while SuperSport come from a disappointing defeat, setting up an interesting derby midweek.
