Downs’ Ladies On Brink Of History

Downs’ Ladies On Brink Of History
Posted: 19 November 2021

The brand and name Mamelodi Sundowns FC has captured the imagination and has become synonymous in African football over the last couple of years.

Tonight, the Sundowns ladies football team will walk shoulder to shoulder, cheek to cheek and eye ball to eye ball when they face Ghanaian giants Hasaacas FC in the Women’s CAF Champions League Final.

Jerry Tsabalalala’s team can become the first club to lift the inaugural African tournament and match FC Barcelona’s ladies team to win their domestic title and the continental gong in the same calendar year.

The Brazilians have not conceded any goal thus far in the tournament but have not been breath-taking either, however, with their attacking prowess and flair, they cannot be underestimated.

The men’s team has also sent their message of support for their female counterparts, with central defender Mosa Lebusa saying;

“I’d like to wish our female team all the very best in tonight’s clash as their playing in the CAF Champions League Final. Everyone is behind you guys and we believe that they will make us and the country proud,” he concluded.

The Beautiful Game sends all its message of support to the Mamelodi Sundowns FC Ladies team, alongside the technical staff and everyone associated with the women’s team.

The final will be broadcasted live on the World Of Champions, SuperSport Channel 209, with kickoff pencilled in for 19:H00.
