Bafana Lads Report For National Duty

Bafana Lads Report For National Duty
Posted: 8 November 2021

Bafana Bafana Head Coach Hugo Broos is beaming with confidence as all his twenty-four (24) man squad players reported for national team duty last night.

Bafana are set to host neighbours and rivals Zimbabwe in their penultimate match on Thursday at the FNB Stadium for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier, before jetting off to Accra, Ghana, where they will square off against them on Sunday.

Broos has only one casualty from the initial squad, with Sfiso Hlanti repturing his Achilles tendon at the training grounds of Naturena last week – facing no less than six (6) months on the sidelines.

The Belgian has called up AmaZulu’s Tercious Malepe to replace the injured Hlanti. The full squad is as follows;

Goalkeepers: Ronwen Williams (SuperSport United), Veli Mothwa (AmaZulu), Bruce Bvuma (Kaizer Chiefs)

Defenders: Nyiko Mobbie (Sekhukhune United), Njabulo Blom (Kaizer Chiefs), Siyanda Xulu (Hapoel Tel Aviv, Israel), Rushine De Reuck (Mamelodi Sundowns), Njabulo Ngcobo (Kaizer Chiefs), Terrence Mashego (Cape Town City), Tercious Malepe (Amazulu), Thibang Phete (Belenenses SAD, Portugal)

Midfielders: Sphelelo Sithole (Belenenses SAD, Portugal), Thabani Zuke (Lamontville Golden Arrows), Ethan Brooks (TS Galaxy), Teboho Mokoena (SuperSport United), Yusuf Maart (Sekhukhune United), Mduduzi Mdantsane (Cape Town City), Keagan Dolly (Kaizer Chiefs)

Forwards: Fagrie Lakay (Cape Town City), Evidence Makgopa (Baroka FC), Victor Letsoalo (Royal AM), Percy Tau (Al Ahly, Egypt), Bongokuhle Hlongwane (Maritzburg United), Pule Mmodi (Lamontville Golden Arrows).

The national broadcaster has been charged with airing both the games as Bafana try to book a spot in the final round of qualifying for the lucrative FIFA World Cup in Qatar next year.
