Pro Footballers Paid Stipends!

There is a saying that goes “When It Rains, It Pours!”, that is the situation that most professional footballers in South Africa are going through at the moment. South African multiple award winning sports broadcaster Robert Marawa heard yesterday on his popular show, Marawa Sports Worldwide.

The internationally-acclaimed Marawa, who invited GladAfrica Championship goalkeeper Zama Dlamini, who plies his trade for Royal Eagles on his show, shared his experiences, saying,

“They said their going to give us stipends and then I said ‘What is this? I mean we have contracts here’. I mean what are we going to do with a stipend because me I’m a breadwinner at home, so if you give me a stipend, what am I going to do with that,?” he asked

When Marawa asked if they were told how much the stipend would be, Dlamini said “No, they don’t communicate with us Bhuti (brother) Robert, they didn’t tell us how much that stipend would be,” he concluded.
The Beautiful Game has contacted the club for an official statement regarding the matter and will return with it once Royal Eagles responds to us.
