Fresh from a shocking defeat and officiating, DSTV Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC will welcome lower-division side Mathaithai FC at the Loftus Versveld Stadium later this evening in the last sixteen (16) of the Nedbank Cup.

Sundowns’ Co-Head Coach Rhulani Mokwena speaks about the dangers that can be posed by the ABC Motsepe League club, saying;

“We are looking forward to it, we’ve tried to do our Intel and collect as much information as we could possibly do. We tried to profile them from a qualitative perspective in relation to who they are.

“They sit in position four (ABC Motsepe League – 2nd tier in South African football), they played on Sunday and they won 1-0, they still a couple of points behind D’General who sit number one.

“They’ve got some very good players individually; they play a four-three-three (4-3-3) with a single pivot, they rely a lot on Tyson to be able to start the buildups, they’ve got a very good goalkeeper in Mbali Tshabalala – very confident on the ball and very industrious.

“Probably their best player in jersey number seventy seven (77), he used to play for Vasco Da Gama and Bloemfontein Celtic – okay maybe his got experience now but their a good side,” concluded Mokwena.

The clash will be live on the World of Champions, SuperSport, with kickoff pencilled in for 18:H00 tonight.
