Mosimane: Must I Smile After Losing? I Mean Really
Posted: 7 March 2022

African giants Al Ahly SC Head Coach Pitso John Jingles Mosimane has told The Beautiful Game why he is always a difficult character to deal with after suffering a loss.

Mosimane is never shy of showing extreme emotions after a loss, and he explains his way of taking a defeat, saying;

“We have gone through different stages, it’s normal in football and you know me, especially when I lose, I’m not a nice guy to be with after a lose, and he (referring to Ahly Club President Mahmoud El Khatib) understands that.

“So I hate losing, I always hear people saying ‘Ja but Pitso is a sore loser’. Who is a good loser? I mean really? That coach who loses and he smiles on TV so that he must be humble and people must say ‘Oh this guy is a decent guy’.

“No, I just lost a match, sorry, I love to win, I hate losing. I don’t want to be that guy who people say that I’m a bad loser but I don’t pretend or show a happy face on TV so that I show my modesty and all that – I don’t have that,” he concluded.

Mosimane and The Red Devils are expected to arrive in the country this week to begin preparations of the return leg against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday in the CAF Champions League.
