Kaizer Chiefs FC playmaker Keagan Dolly has been recalled to the national set-up after being in the wilderness for almost a year due to injuries and lack of playing time for his former French side Montpellier CF.

However, the diminutive Dolly has somewhat found himself in the last couple of weeks for The Phefeni Glamour Boys and scored a brace against nemesis Orlando Pirates Football Club over the weekend.

The mercurial number ten reflects on his call-up to the national team, saying;

“Obviously, I’m happy to be back, I think it’s every professional footballer’s dream to play for their national team, and I’m excited, the boys are doing well, we have an exciting team. So, I’m just here to help where I can and to make sure that we qualify.

On his time in France and recent form, he said;

“I think my time in France was a bit difficult for me, it was something new, and I feel like it’s something that I had to go through as a person. As a player, I’m more experienced now, I’m more matured, and you can see on the field, I’m more decisive with my decision-making.

“I’m happy to be back home, I’m enjoying myself and I feel like the old Keagan Dolly you know; scoring goals, I’m creating chances for the team, and my confidence is back, so that’s always a good thing coming back to the national team with confidence,” he concluded.

Dolly, affectionately known as ‘Ma Se Kind’, will be hoping to help Hugo Broos’ side to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, starting with a victory against Zimbabwe tomorrow evening.
