Dolly: I’m Never Serious

Dolly: I’m Never Serious
Posted: 5 November 2021

It’s that time of the year in South African football where family members clash – father v son, mother v daughter, uncle v nephew, aunty v niece, talks in classrooms, taxi ranks, corporate offices, hair salons and beyond – its Orlando Pirates Football Club vs. Kaizer Chiefs!

The Soweto Derby carries its own style, swag, charisma and charm, no one wants to be on the losing side. The Beautiful Game asked Kaizer Chiefs’ star Keagan Dolly of any superstitions he does before matchday, and the outspoken playmaker said;

“Nothing, nothing really hey. Since I started playing football, I just rock up and play. Obviously before we walk out I pray, that’s one of the first things that I do, I pray.

“And then I just do the normal thing; just go out there and play. I’m always laughing, I’m always just joking, you can see me before games, I’ll be cracking up jokes. I’m never serious until the final whistle,” he concluded.

Soweto, Alexandra, Tembisa, Emphangeni, Phokeng, Gugulethu, Umlazi, and all the locations will be divided tomorrow when the Sea Robbers visit The Phefeni Glamour Boys, with kickoff pencilled in for 15:H30 South African time.
