Kaitano We Fought
Posted: 18 October 2021
Tshwane side SuperSport United continued their fine start in the DSTV Premiership this season after winning 2-0 against Baroka FC over the weekend.
The victory lifts Kaitano Tembo’s side to second on the log standings, a point behind pace-setters Mamelodi Sundowns FC. Matsatsantsa’s mentor Tembo reflects on the victory, saying;
“I think apart from the two chances we created in the first half, which we were not ready, that’s why we didn’t take them because we were second to the ball. We knew that they will try to play like that… That long ball to Evidence and they’ll play on the second ball.
“In the second half we regrouped, we wanted to get behind them, especially on their left side, and that’s where we got our opportunities. Sometimes in games like these, you really have to fig deep, you really have to fight because they are a well-structured team,” concluded Tembo.
United will be hoping for the same vein of form when they host William Baxter’s Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday in the capital.
