City Star: I’d Consider Leaving
Posted: 15 October 2021

Manchester City and England star has confirmed that he would consider leaving the club and play abroad.

Raheem Sterling, who was one of the standout performers for England in the Euros a couple of months ago, has found it difficult to start football matches for Pep Guardiola’s side this season.

The Englishman speaks to The Beautiful Game’s European Correspondent Chris Wheatley and says to him;

“If there was an opportunity to go somewhere else, (for more game time), I would be open to it at this moment in time.

“As I said, football is the most important thing to me – challenges that I have set myself from a young age and dreams as well, to play abroad.

“As an English player all I know is the Premier League and I have always had something down (in me) that maybe one day I would love to play abroad to see how I would come up against that challenge.

“I’m not a person that’s going to complain. I’ve not tried to make it a bigger deal than it actually is,” he concluded.

Sterling is only 26 years of age and has already played more than seventy (70) games for the Three Lions, and with the 2022 World Cup in sight, he might need to leave to book himself a flight to Qatar with the national team.
