The Beautiful Game’s African and multiple award-winning football correspondent, Baba Mali Traore understands that Al Ahly SC Head Coach Pitso Mosimane is interested in one of his former players.

Mosimane is looking to reunite with Brighton and Hove Albion forward Percy Tau this season if the English Premier League club cannot guarantee the 27-year-old regular playing minutes on the pitch.

The Seagulls have recently received a cash injection of £50m from the sale of Ben White to Arsenal, with the club looking to finance a move for a striker, which might leave Tau pondering his future.

The Mogale City-born tactician is offering Tau regular playing time, an opportunity to play at the Club World Cup, test his strengths in the Egyptian Premier League, and put him in the frame of other European clubs.

Al Ahly’s club directors were locked in a meeting on Monday evening discussing potential arrivals, and we understand that the prospect of Tau arriving at the Cairo International stadium was part of the agenda.
