Ferguson: We Didn’t Sign Him Due To Running Style

Former Manchester United manager and great Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed to Sky Sports that they didn’t sign now-Liverpool skipper Jordan Herderson due to his running style.

United were interested in the box-to-box midfielder when he was still at Sunderland a couple of years ago, but the medical team at Old Trafford decided against it, with Ferguson saying;

“We were ready to make a bid for Jordan Henderson at Sunderland. I spoke to Steve Bruce and he loved the guy.

“And then our medical department said they were not happy with his running style – he could be the type to have injuries,” he concluded.

Henderson had went on to lift the European Champions League, the European Super Cup, the Club World Cup and the much-coveted English Premier League with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
