Pitso Walks On Egyptian Water!
Posted: 2 November 2020
Former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has started a grand life out at Egyptian giants Al Ahly since arriving in North Africa last month.
The Mogale-City born coach lifted the Egyptian league title with The Red Devils on Saturday, and quite rightly gave all the credit to former manager Rene Weiler, who in return hyped up ‘Jingles’.
Granted, Mosimane arrived in the Egyptian league in the latter stages of the competition, but the performance of Ah Ahly has been been brilliant since he touched down at the club; one touch football, inter-passes, spacing off the ball, the triangles between the players, spaces in between the lines, tactical awareness of the players and their technical abilities being maximized.
Mosimane always tries to shy away from glory, sharing it with his well-assembled technical bench that includes first lieutenant Calvin Johnson, fitness guru Kabelo Rangoaga and the master of performance analysis, Musi Matlaba.
Jingles is well aware that club president Mohmoud El Khatib roped him in for the African Champions League gong, which he helped dispatch rivals Wydad Casablanca 5-1 in the semifinals and they now await Raja Casablanca or Zamalek CF in the final.
The 56-year-old Mosimane will be tantalizingly waiting to see who his club face in the continental showpiece later this month, but dear has he not put a foot wrong since his arrival and will be hoping to win his second Champions League title and ninth for the African Club of the Century.
