Tinkler: They Showed Character

Maritzburg United Head Coach Eric Tinkler has lauded his team’s character against Mamelodi Sundowns a couple of days ago. The KwaZulu Natal side twice came back from losing situations to draw two-all against The Brazilians, with Tinkler saying;

“Yeah definitely, I thought the character they showed was excellent, absolutely fantastic, particularly in the second half. It wasn’t going to be easy, coming back from 2-1 to making it 2-2.

“A lot of teams would drop their heads but we showed character, and that is good to see, the never-say-die attitude, and we showed it tonight (Friday).

“I mean everybody contributed you know, we made five subs, and the boys showed their all, Judas Moseamedi wanted to continue but he couldn’t run anymore. So I’m very happy with the performance of the boys,” concluded Tinkler.

The Team of Choice will be hoping to return to winning ways after their gutsy performance against Pitso Mosimane’s men on Friday.
