Pitso: The Grounds Man Was On Lockdown
Posted: 9 August 2020
Reigning ABSA Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has sympathized with the grounds man at Orlando Stadium after their 3-2 win against Bidvest Wits on Saturday night. The turf at Orlando is normally in top shape, however, due to the Corona Virus, it didn’t look good on television, but Mosimane understood the situation, saying;
“The pitch is not that bad Karabo, at this point in time; its winter, it’s been a while neh, let’s give football credit. I mean we were all under lockdown, even the grounds man here was under lockdown, so how can we have a good pitch?
“Remember its winter; the grass doesn’t grow long, there is no rain, there is less sunshine, so that is why the grass is like that. But it was not bad, let’s be grateful akere, I mean what are we going to do? The grounds man was on lockdown here, so it’s one of those, I don’t think we will find a lot of pitches in top shape because it was lockdown,” concluded the passionate coach.
The Brazilians next face fellow title chasers and giants Orlando Pirates Football Club at Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday, with the match scheduled for 18:H00.
