Mbatha: Chiefs Win Inspiration
Posted: 26 July 2020
AmaZulu goalkeeper Siyabonga Mbatha has spoken about how great a result they achieved against log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs before the lockdown and hope they can outsource inspiration from that result. Usuthu won 1-0 away from home against The Phefeni Glamour Boys in March, with Mbatha hoping for more, saying;
“Well, I think looking at the momentum, I’m hoping that it doesn’t affect the team (the lockdown break) as we were on a high after the Chiefs game and hopefully the same thing will happen when we go back. I honestly hope we can re-watch the Kaizer Chiefs game and see the good things we did so that it would psyche us up to go back.
“(Because) I think after the Chiefs game we were unstoppable, we struggled to beat Chiefs in 13 years and to beat them in their own backyard was a big thing for us, it was a major boost for us and I hope we can draw inspiration from that,” he concluded
Mbatha is also the skipper of the club and will be gearing the lads up to fight for the status of the club in order to remain in the top-division for next season.
