Supersport United midfielder Aubrey Modiba has reached out to his community in Limpopo during these difficult times to try and ease the pain of many families. The soft-spoken star, who is often creating goals on the field of play, has taken giant steps off the pitch. The “Postman”, as Modiba is known in football circles, said,

“Ja, you know I grew up here, so I know the struggles here and managed to answer a few calls because they really needed my help. Even though I couldn’t help everyone but we tried our best and I wish we can come back here. I’d really like to thank them (his foundation and sponsors) for their support and effort,” Aubrey concluded.

Modiba donated food parcels and masks to families just under a hundred and hopes to return to donate more to other struggling families. The left-footed footie was linked with cross-town rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the January Transfer Window but decided to extend his contract with Matsatsantsa, dashing the hopes of Sundowns securing his services.

The Postman is one of the key players at the club and a trusted lieutenant for head coach Kaiteno Tembo, and will play a crucial role for the club as club captain Dean Furman has left the to return to Britain to be with his family.
