Ben 10 Relegated, PSG Champions!
Posted: 1 May 2020.
Bafana Bafana international Bongani Zungu woke up to the worst news after his football club in France, Amiens, was relegated alongside Toulouse to the Ligue 2, while Paris Saint-Germain were crowned the 2019/2020 Champions.
The French Professional Football League (LFP) ratified the decision at a meeting on Thursday, two days after French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe suspended sport in the country until at least September. A points-per-game system, taking into account the performance of clubs in the matches already played, was used to determine the final standings in the Ligue 1 table.
Zungu, who narrowly missed out on a move to LaLiga in the January Transfer Window, is one of the key players at the club and has virtually played every game when fit. The 27-year-old Duduza-born midfielder is sure to have offers in top leagues. The Beautiful Game has it on good authority that some of the teams interested in him are in the Bundesliga, LaLiga and the Serie A in the Italy. Amiens have braced themselves to losing one of their prized assets in the summer.
