Lentjies On His Appointment
Posted: 18 November 2021
Eastern Cape side Chippa United have, on Tuesday, confirmed the appointment of former long-serving player Kurt Lentjies as the club’s interim Head Coach.
The Western Cape-born has now reacted to the appointment, saying;
“It’s something that I wasn’t prepared for, and especially that it happened so quick, so there was a lot of thinking that had to be done, consult the family, a lot of thinking had to be done. But I’ve been here for a long time, I think five years? So I just have to continue.
When asked about his qualifications in football, he said;
“Obviously, I did my CAF C licence while I was still playing, so I’ve always wanted to educate myself when it comes to qualifications in football. I’ve decided to go into coaching because I think it suited me, it suited my personality so I’ve worked very hard over the last six years and asking questions to different coaches,” he concluded.
The Chilli Boys will be hoping to chip away with maximum points when they face a somewhat indifferent Baroka FC this weekend in the league.
