XAVI: I’M Ready To Return To BARCA!
Posted: 1 May 2020
Xavier Hernandez Creaus, simply known as Xavi, says he is ready to manage Barcelona but insists there cannot be any “toxicity” in the dressing room. The midfield general, who spent the better days of his footballing career at Barcelona, played more than 700 official games from 1998 to 2015.
During his distinguished time at Barca, he won eight LaLiga titles and lifted four European Champions League trophies and also played a major role in helping the Spanish national team win three major trophies, the Euro 2008, the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.
Xavi said “I am clear that I want to return to Barcelona, it gives me a lot of excitement, now I believe I have seen myself coaching I think I can bring things to the players. But I made it clear to them that I saw myself in a project that started from zero and which the decision-making was mine,” he concluded.
The club has approached Xavi before sacking former manager Ernesto Velverde, and it remains to be seen if they would return to him again having appointed a Quique Setien as their new manager a couple months ago.
