Pirates Legend Impressed By Chiefs!

Former Orlando Pirates legend Edward Motale has spoken openly about which team has impressed him the most during the 2019/2020 season. “Majents”, who was also part of the memorable Pirates squad that won the 1995 African Champions League, has openly said their bitter rivals The Phefeni Glamour Boys have outdone themselves this season.

Motale said “Ja, uhm, I’m a Pirate and will always be, but I think Chiefs has impressed me the most. The finish line (midfielders and strikers) have done well”. Motale also gave reasons why they have done well, saying “There was a noise saying the coach must go but the Chairman was patient with the coach and he didn’t sack him. He (Kaizer Motaung), also went out and bought quality players this season and from then, they never looked back and that is why their sitting on top there, wabona (you see)”

Asked if he was happy with the way that Chiefs played, he continued to say “Remember, our football is not standardized, err…that’s why we have a coach from Brazil, from Turkey, from Germany, so they didn’t play nice football but they are on top”, he concluded.

The Soweto giants are currently on top of the league standings with forty eight (48) points from twenty two (22) games, while Sundowns are four points behind with a game in hand.
