Chiefs, Hunt Talks Continue
Posted: 10 September 2020
The Beautiful Game has it on good authority that talks between South African giants Kaizer Chiefs and Gavin Hunt are continuing.
We understand there has been some compromise reached by both parties but no agreement has been made. Amakhosi have identified Hunt as their first-choice to take over from Ernst Middendorp, who was sacked two days ago after crunch talks at the club’s headquarters in Naturena.
The club have also drawn up alternatives should Hunt turn down their offer, with Benni McCarthy a strong contender for the vacancy, while Stuart William Baxter is a dark horse for the hotseat.
One of the sticking points for Hunt to commit is to bring his own backroom staff and the recruitment policy at the club. We expect defining news from our sources within the next 48 hours.
This is a developing update…
