Tembo: It’s An Opportunity For Silverware
Posted: 9 February 2022
Tshwane side SuperSport United travel to Durban this evening to face Maritzburg United in the 2022 Nedbank Cup edition.
The Spartans will hope to topple The Team of Choice in their own backyard and United’s Head Coach, Kaitano Tembo says their preparations have been going well;
“There has been a lot of positives in terms of preparations you know, playing a few friendly games and the boys are looking really sharp, we are looking forward to the resumption of the league.
“So, I’m quite happy with where we are at the moment, very positive, especially going into the Nedbank Cup against Maritzburg United. I think this game gives us an opportunity to see where we are in terms of readiness to resume the league.
“The game against Maritzburg United is very key; it’s a cup game, it gives us a realistic opportunity to finish the season with silverware. So, we are really looking forward to the game and we will give it a go and make sure we get to the next round, that’s all that we want,” concluded Kaitano.
Matsatsantsa will be playing their first-ever fixture without inspirational and influential midfielder Teboho Mokoena, who has since joined cross-town rivals Mamelodi Sundowns FC.
