Reigning DSTV Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC underlined their strength in depth and quality after dismantling GaldAfrica Championship side Richards Bay in Durban last night.

The Brazilians were far too strong for their opponents, convincingly winning the match 4-0 in rainy conditions in KwaZulu Natal. Sundowns’ Co-Head Coach Manqoba Mnqithi reacts to their resounding victory, saying;

“I think our first half was a bit scrappy, but I was very impressed with our second half. I thought we gained control of the game and we passed the ball better and we were not rushing.

“We were also not running with the ball in a field that we are not even familiar with. Our second half looked very strong, very resolute, we created a lot of goal-scoring moments and I was very impressed,” concluded Mnqithi.

Sundowns will now put focus on wrapping the league title as soon as possible before switching their attention to the CAF Champions League where they will face their former manager Pitso Mosimane in the group stages.
