Davids: We Can’t Look Far Ahead
Posted: 18 December 2021

Orlando Pirates Football Club were heavily beat by a relentless Mamelodi Sundowns FC side last night that looks to be on the cusp of making history.

The Brazilians put Pirates to the sword with a 4-1 drubbing under lights in the capital. The Beautiful Game asked The Buccaneers’ Co-Head Coach Fadlu Davids if they can still catch Sundowns with a nineteen (19) point gap, and he said;

“I don’t think we have to look at the amount of points that their ahead, we just have to try to win every game we play and keep progressing in terms of our development as a team.

“You know it’s a process since we took over, and we need to go step-by-step and not to look too far, not to look at the distance, just to look at the next game.

“It is possible to win every game and that’s what we will aim for after this loss today (yesterday against Mamelodi Sundowns),” he concluded.

The Soweto giants have failed to beat Sundowns in five outings and have infact lost all their games against them this calendar year.
