Downs Drop Points, Mnqithi Rues Missed Opportunities

Reigning DSTV Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC played out to a one-all draw against a highly-spirited Stellenbosch FC last night.
Sundowns’ Co-Head Coach, Manqoba Mnqithi says they missed clear-cut opportunities but they’ll settle for a draw, saying;
“The truth of the matter is that we’ve always known that it won’t be an easy match. Stellenbosch always gives us a tough time, but we got very good chances in the first half, which I think we should’ve capitalised on. Kutumela was very clear, Sage made a very good safe from Grant’s header.
“I think Peter (Shalulile) could’ve done something, but unfortunately if you don’t take those chances and they get a break, which I think we could’ve dealt with it earlier enough, before it arrives into the box.
“I still have to check what happened with the penalty, but I do believe that it’s possible that it was a penalty, even though I haven’t seen the video footage at this stage,” concluded Mnqithi.
The Brazilians are now nine points clear from their closest chasers, Royal AM FC, with two games left for the calendar year of 2021 in the league.
