European and global giants FC Barcelona have confirmed that they have parted ways with club icon Ronald Koeman after yet another defeat last night.

The Blaugrana lost 1-0 to Rayo Vallecano for the first time in nineteen (19) years in LaLiga, leaving Barca ninth on the table and facing an uphill battle to contest for the Championship.

Barca’s President, Joan Laporte called an emergency meeting last night after the defeat, with the club informing Koeman of the decision to release him as first team manager.

We understand Barca have already opened communication with former club legend Xavi Hernandez Creus, who is currently the manager of Al Saad in the Middle East.

Xavi is interested in taking over the reigns at the troubled club and Laporte, alongside the entire board, trust the former La Masia graduate Xavi. It is now a case of when will he arrive in Barcelona, not if as both parties want the deal completed as soon as possible.
