The DSTV Premiership welcomed an exciting talent to its ranks in the form of TS Galaxy youngster Sbongiseni Shelembe over the weekend.
The twenty (20) year old midfielder was introduced against reigning Champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC when they were trailing by three goals to nil and showed glimpses of his talent in the encounter.
An excited Shelembe spoke of his debut this morning, saying;
“So my debut for me against (Mamelodi) Sundowns…for me, it was…I got to show people that I’m around. To be honest, I wasn’t that excited, it was my family who was excited, my mom – she was more excited than I was.
“But for me, making my debut against a big team like Sundowns, it was special and showed that I’ve been working hard and I’ve pushed – from the Diski Challenge and coming up to the PSL side.
“When I was growing, I really didn’t have that thing of saying ‘Eish, I want to be a professional footballer or I want to do this.’. It was all for fun but people started telling me that I’m actually good and you can do something with football (as a career) and that’s when I stated working hard,” concluded the excited youngster.
Shelembe, who is only twenty years (20) of age, will be desperate to help The Rockets pick up crucial points as they’ve started on a topsy turvey note this campaign.
