The Beautiful Game’s African Multiple Award-Winning Football Correspondent Baba Mali Traore has some news coming out of Cairo, Egypt, this morning.

Mali Traore, who is currently out in Cairo, understands that Al Ahly’s SC Assistant Coach, Cavin Johnson is set to leave the ten-time CAF Champions League winners before the start of the Egyptian campaign, saying to us;

“Oui oui. Il quitte le club. Il a reçu une offre très intéressante dans son pays d’origine (Yes, Yes. He is leaving the club. He has received a very interesting offer in his home country).

“Ahly trust him very much, Bibo (Mahmoud Al Khatib – Ahly’s club President) trusts him, love him but he get offer, good offer, he will be on his way soon.

“The club Ahly will speak to Pitso and ask him for his new assistant, can be someone from club now or someone Pitso wants to bring from his country,” he concluded.

It has been thought that Soweto giants Orlando Pirates Football Club are one of the club’s that have enquired about the possibility of bringing Johnson to the club, whilst he has also been linked with two unnamed teams in the DSTV Premiership.
