The Beautiful Game’s Top DSTV Premiership Signings…

Posted: 1 September 2021

The DSTV Premiership’s transfer window closed shut at midnight and dear there was top arrivals around the country. This publication, with it’s resident writer, Obakeng ‘Jonfranco’ Ngobeni, discussed the best business made yet, in no particular order;

Orlando Pirates Football Club – Kwanda Mngonyama; The Sea Robbers needed reinforcements at the back, henceforth the addition of Kwanda.

Kaizer Chiefs – Njabulo Ngcobo; one of the finest performers of last season and Defender of the 2020/2021 campaign, Chiefs moved ahead quick for the signature of Ngcobo.

Keagan Dolly – A big decision had to be made with Keagan Dolly. Barely featured for Montpellier last season and had some injury woes stringed along with his weight, Chiefs took a gamble. However, it seems to be a good piece of business if Dolly’s cameos are anything to go by.

Swallows FC – Keletso Makgalwa; Brilliant signing for Swallows FC, brilliant team for Keletso to join and get game time away from Sundowns.

Cape Town City FC – Hugo Marques; A 35 year old Angolan goalkeeper who applied his trade in Portugal has been solid for CTC in the absence of injured Darren Keet so far.

Khanyisa Mayo – A fantastic signing for the Cityzens, second best attacker from last season in the GladAfrika Championship. A great addition of Mayo to the City attack, Head Coach Eric Tinkler can now focus on the transition play from defence and into attack.

Mamelodi Sundowns FC – Thabiso Kutumela ; having been a regular and a skipper for Maritzburg United, can ‘Warra’ command a starting berth at Chloorkop?

Amazulu FC – Keagan Buchanan; having prematurely left Maritzburg United, Keagan finds himself at local rivals Usuthu, who needed midfield reinforcements in order to not only compete in the PSL but in CAF as well.

SuperSport United – Buhle Mkhwanazi; United needed some experience in that side that can guide the likes of Luke Fluers at the back. A brilliant signing for Supersport United.
