Mokwena: AJ 15 Is Extremely Intelligent

Mamelodi Sundowns FC Co-Head Coach Rhulani Mokwena has praised one of his players ahead of the much-anticipated fixture against Lamontville Golden Arrows this weekend.

‘Gattuso’, as he is popularly known within the circles of South African football, has not enjoyed any game-time this season, but Mokwena tells The Beautiful Game of how intelligent the midfield kingpin is, saying to us;

“The transformation of Andile Jali is incredible. Upon my arrival from the second stint, I could feel that Andile Jali was a bit disconnected from the team, slightly overweight and maybe missing the passion for the game but I must tell, his level of commitment, his training, his relentless focus in trying to improve his physical condition is fantastic.

“You can already see improvements in regards to that, a lot of people do not know how honest AJ is and honesty sometimes is one of the reasons why there are misconceptions.

“He is arrogant but the reality is that Andile has got a lot of confidence and he is extremely honest. Some of the discussions we have with him are always the best in regards to feedback; it comes from the heart and his level of game intelligence and passion for the game is second to none,” concluded Mokwena

The Matatiele-born star will be hoping for his first appearance of the season when the lock horns with Abafana Bes’Thende this weekend in the first leg of the MTN 8 semifinals in Durban.
