Baxter: Dolly Is Close
Posted: 23 August 2021
Kaizer Chiefs FC Head Coach Stuart William Baxter has told The Beautiful Game that new signing Keagan Dolly is close to starting a football match for the club.
Dolly has somewhat shown glimpses of his former self and that was evident in their encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns FC and again yesterday when they squared up against TS Galaxy FC.
The Beautiful Game asked Baxter on how soon will the Riverlea-born midfielder start, and he said to us;
“I would say very close; Keagan has moved from when he signed, he had a long period of inactivity. Both his sharpness and his touch and his endurance…that was lacking, but he has worked really hard.
“He is really great to have around the place, and when he has gone on, as you rightly said, he has gone on in both our games, and a game against SuperSport United, and his done really well in all those games.
“Now you could understand that the temptation for me is to start him, but I think we looking at at hamstring injury or a soft tissue injury if we do start him. So I’m battling with myself because I don’t want to throw him in too soon.
“But at the same time, you see his quality when he has gone on and we’re really tempted, but I think he is close, he is close and we’ll see how he reacts to each game,” concluded the Englishman.
Dolly will be a big part of what The Phefeni Glamour Boys achieve this season, and a fly-fit Dolly would be a welcome addition for the Naturena side.
